Comments From Our Guests:

"Semur-en-Axois is so beautiful it brought tears to my eyes when I first arrived and tears to my eyes when I left. I didn’t want to leave. The process of getting there by train was seamless and easy. Thank you so much for letting me stay in your house. It was warm and charming. I also enjoyed the vineyard and the view was awesome."

"We enjoyed our stay at Pont Pinard Cottage tremendously, a true home away from home - charming and cozy. Semur is fairy tale village with it's towers, church bells ringing, and cobblestone roads - full of welcoming people. We gained confidence speaking French by greeting people on our daily walks to the Boulangerie and cafe. Semur was a central homebase for day trips and wine touring to Burgundy Valley. In all, what a memorable 40th birthday."

"My son brought me to your house for my first trip to Europe AND to celebrate my recovery from knee surgery. After several hectic days in Paris, he whisked me away on the fast train to Semur for peace, quiet, and an authentic French cultural experience. What a delightful, restful place! The house was very comfortable -the stairs to the second floor very manageable. I love to cook and enjoyed the beautiful full copper kitchen. We made apple tarts and grape jelly from the garden and met lovely, friendly Semurois in town when we visited the cafes and restaurants.

The culture and living history were amazing to me. The churches, the statues, the ancient celtic sites… I have never before been in a place where I could see monuments built before the birth of Christ. It was s a trip to get to Alesia and lots of celtic history. The abbey at Fontenay was gorgeous and amazing. Semur is so beautiful and so convenient to so many rich historical monuments I wanted to see. I was afraid that the stairs into town would be too much for a woman in her eighties. They were a cinch. I will treasure my memories of the trip for as long as I live."
